Museum of Everyday Things

CSUEB · 2025

The Museum of Everyday Things brochure presents a fictional exhibition about a pair of hiking boots, created for the imagined institution of the same name. The design focuses on the narrative surrounding the boots: how they were obtained, what they are used for, who wears them, and the emotions they inspire. Through these stories, the boots become more than just footwear, instead representing nostalgia, versatility, and cultural relevance. These qualities exemplify the exhibition’s slogan, ordinarily unique. The slogan itself was designed to mimic the look of a linocut, where the imperfections created by human touch reinforce the central idea that ordinary objects gain uniqueness and meaning through the marks of everyday life.
