The New Years Calendar and Card required the creation of a calendar and greeting card that worked together as a cohesive set to celebrate the new year. Seeing as there was no theme requirement, the project became a study of Russian Constructivism, approached in a way similar to artist and designer Shepard Fairey, who reinterprets visuals commonly associated with propaganda into social critiques. Through a reworking of historical design, the calendar and card became a call for empowerment in response to the social climate of the time.
